Working on large canvasses in my studio I ran into the frustration of long cycles to completion. To satisfy my craving for instant gratification, I worked on a series of collages whose "canvasses" were slide frames. This developed out of my past as a graphic designer creating slide presentations for 30 years. Lots of old slides were available as outlet for my creativity. Not only did I get instant gratification, I also got the satisfaction of being accepted in the San Francisco MOMA art auction along with artists such as Gerhard Richter, Chuck Close, Nathan Olivera, and many more. My work, an installation of 16 slide collages mounted on wood, fetched 14 bids, selling substantially over the estimated value.
