Bertolt Schmidt created these images since he began a
traveller's life - moving back and forth between Berlin and San Francisco.

This constantly changing life has opened many new perspectives to him
- exciting and inspiring ones. It's all about motion and emotion now.

His pictures tell his own stories and dreams -
- but each spectator will be told a different story, a different dream...

...sometimes the motion develops just in the head...
...sometimes emotion comes through motion...
...sometimes motion comes through emotion...

...and each of them are interdependent.

Some images are created entirely by electronic means;
some combine classical hand-painting and digital painting.

Scans of the same acrylic painting can appear in different digital
images, a printed canvas can be painted upon again, or parts of watercolor
paintings are used as specific color-and-surface-elements in a digital
painting.

For Bertolt Schmidt the fusion of digital and classical tools of artwork
creation, the fusion of techniques and personal spirit is not a mismatch,
but a very creative and even emotional way of expressing himself.
