When I spontaneously chose the title “Silicon Valley” some months ago for a new series of images, I had a variety of themes in mind to be continued from previous work like the “skin”, “freedom” and  “zerOne” series (see my webpage: www.tancre.com) With my recent images I want to cast a different light on these subjects. Influenced by the unique nature of an area I live in, Silicon Valley, my pictures reflect its landscape and certain aspects of its socio- economical characteristics. Some of them are universal, yet Silicon Valley seems to be a perfect peg to hang them on: the modern gold rush due to advanced science, and its implications on man who seems to be caught in systems and beliefs. My new work can only be understood as a reference to these comprehensive topics that keep on fascinating me and that will fill more pages of a portfolio to be continued.
